Going Chic (& Comfy)

When someone says chic – the image that instantly comes to my mind is bodycon dresses and high heels. But when I need to dress up for an event I need to keep in mind that this outfit needs to last me a good 3-4 hours or sometimes more. I would be eating, sitting, dancing or prancing from one group to another and a bodycon dress or a skinny jeans can get a little uncomfortable after a while. But what if I can dress chic and also binge and not worry about the little beer belly wanting to explode into a major paunch.

Yes, dressing up chic for a party in some comfy clothing was my biggest challenge recently. I love dressing up but the pain of those after dinner tight clothing issue was too much to tolerate. So I took a second look at my denim joggers and tried building a party look around it. I teamed it up with a white shirt and put on a black belt around the waist to give the look a structure. I wore pink stilettos to add colour – but if flats are more of your deal wear a closed flat shoe along with it.

White Shirt: M&S
Belt: Thrift Find
